Beverley School

We were approached by Water Management Solutions (WMS) to carry out a water audit on a “no win, no

fee” basis. As we were, aware WMS were working with many of the schools in the area we decided to go

ahead.

Review found increasing water consumption, and site investigations identified the probable cause as a leak

at the water meter, the leak was found to be on the Northumbria Water infrastructure. A full allowance

against water and sewerage costs were sought these allowances totalled over 17k.

In addition to the water leak, WMS found historic overcharging on the surface water and highway drainage

charges going back to 2011 when this was found to be incorrect the charges were removed.

The school benefited from rebates totalling over 45k more importantly the school will be saving more than

17k each year, which is a great help in these economic conditions.

We recently took advantage of the "no win no fee" audit of water charges offered by Water Management Solutions UK (WMS).

After providing WMS with details of our site and copies of water bills, they looked in detail at charges we were paying, checking consumption, current and historic charges, suitability of tariffs and efficiency measures, and carrying out a site investigation.

The audit was of great value because it identified a significant overcharge that we had no idea existed. WMS managed the process of rectification with the water company completely, resulting in the College receiving tens of thousands of pounds in refunds alone, with on-going annual savings of £8k

which is a very welcome reduction each year for the college.

Our school had recently been experiencing extremely high water consumption and related charges. Costs kept rising and concerned that this pattern may continue at our expense, we researched the market for outside help.

We were recommended to a company called Water Management Solutions UK Ltd and heard that they are water cost reduction specialists helping many schools, colleges and universities across the UK obtain refunds and reduce ongoing water and sewerage costs. As they work on a fair “no win, no fee" basis with good references and reputation, we decided to retain their services.

Immediately after instructing WMS UK Ltd to investigate our situation they were proactive in the collection of water billing, data and meter readings and soon after identified a leak near our boiler house. WMS UK Ltd calculated our losses which had started back in 2008 and had escalated into larger losses slowly over the years until identified by WMS UK in 2011.

The leak was fixed and Water Management Solutions UK submitted a written application to United Utilities for a refund back to 2008 under the current statute of limitation. We have recently received a cheque for £34,029.19 and an outstanding invoice paid at source for £6,040.09 making a total refund of £40,069.28.

I engaged the services of Water Management Solutions UK after attending a Business Managers Conference back in November 2019 they gave an interesting presentation on how they had secured refunds and reduced water bills going forward for some schools.

Knowing our bills were quite high compared to other similar sized local schools I started to work with them.

I have, nearly twelve months later, received a cheque for £10,500 and reduced billing going forward all thanks to the efforts of Water Management Solutions, it appears that the school had been placed in the wrong band for several years and as I am no expert on water would never have known this.
